A Portage man was sent back to jail today for violating terms of his pretrial supervision, regarding a fatal crash earlier this year. In Lake County, northbound I-65 was shut down for more than five hours this morning after troopers say a semi tractor-trailer overturned around 4:30 this morning near the State Road 2 – Lowell exit. Indiana State Police say the truck was hauling barrels of industrial lubricant and there was a lot of cleanup involved. No word at this time if the product itself got onto the roadway. In Portage, the Times reports a 19-year-old man has been arrested and charged with felony intimidation after allegedly posting threats on Facebook to “go on a rampage” and that “portage people might be dying soon”. The report says the man told police he had no intention of carrying out the threats and did not have an answer when questioned why he didn't stop making the posts after a family member and others asked him to stop.

The number of confirmed fungal meningitis cases in Indiana is now at 69 according to the Indiana State Department of Health.
