From the latest news release: Beginning 7:00 am Monday, June 11,, 2012 the 100 block of South Broad Street, between Main St. and the Canadian National Railroad crossing, will be closed to all vehicular traffic for railroad reconstruction. This includes Pedestrian and Bicycle traffic.
The Downtown businesses will be open. Parking and business accessibility within the 100 block of South Broad will be available from the rear of each business via the West Main Street alley-way. Businesses located South of the railroad crossing will also be open.
Weather permitting, the duration of street closure is scheduled for two (2) weeks. South Broad Street is scheduled to be reopened by 6:00 pm June 22nd.
Detour routes: N-Bound Broad: Utilize West Ave. H to Kennedy Ave. north to Main St. east to Broad. *Utiliize east Ave H to Colfax Ave. north to Main St. west to Broad
S-Bound Broad: Utilize West Main St. to Kennedy Ave. south to Division Ave. east to Broad. *Utiliize East Main St. to Colfax Ave. south to Ave. H. west to Broad.
* Truck traffic should utilize the Colfax Ave. detour route.
* NO TRUCKS ARE ALLOWED ON BROAD STREET.
