Town officials cut the ribbon on the new the new recycling center located in Lowell's Freedom park Friday afternoon. Waste Management of Northwest Indiana will be responsible for the new site including keeping the area picked up. According to Waste Management officials, the new recycling center is one of 18 different centers in Lake County, but is unique from the rest as It features a new type of enclosure and gate around the center and video surveillance to curb illegal dumping and stealing of scrap items.
