Indiana's students earned another year of record breaking scores on the Indiana Statewide Testing for Education Progress Plus (ISTEP). According to the Indiana Department of Education, overall 71% of Hoosier students passed both the English Language Arts and Math portions of the test during the 2011-2012 school year.  Dr. Tony Bennett State Superintendent of Public Instruction said that for the first time, more than 80% of students demonstrated proficiency on at least one of the four subjects tested.
