With the opening of the Porter County Fair Thursday night, Porter County Sheriffs Police have some advice and reminders for fair-goers. Porter County Sheriffs Police Public Information Officer Sgt. Larry LaFlower says expect very congested traffic conditions in the area of Division Rd. and State Road 49 during the fair especially Thursday night--opening night. LaFlower says with Thursday night's sold out 7,000 ticket grandstand event you should "come early so you can get parked and be at the event on time before it starts." He also advises that there are alternates to State Road 49, including 325 East from US-20 with some motorists coming in from the west side along Division Road.
