Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller was in Crown Point Tuesday, joining Lake County Prosecutor Bernard Carter in reminding retailers about new civil penalties for selling synthetic drugs like so-called "bath salts,” K-2 and Spice. Indiana store owners have been getting a formal notice and warning from state and local officials that continued synthetic drug sales could cost them their business. A new state law says stores caught selling the drugs will face penalties including the loss of their retail license for one year.

Zoeller's office, the Indiana State Police, the Indiana State Department of Health, the Indiana Department of Revenue, the Indiana Board of Pharmacy and Indiana Sheriff's Association have also joined forces on the state level to issue a legal notice to all Indiana retailers.
