Hoosier Lottery officials say last night's Powerball drawing with an estimated jackpot of 185- million-dollars didn't go unnoticed. Ticket sales at retailers around Indiana were said to have been picking up steadily with each passing draw without a jackpot winner. There were no jackpot winners last night either, so the estimated jackpot for Saturday's drawing is up to 214-million dollars.
The Powerball jackpot was last hit for 50-million-dollars in Delaware, October 3rd. A Hoosier Lottery player laid claim to a Powerball jackpot win in the very first drawing in April, 1992, and since then, the Hoosier Lottery says tickets sold in Indiana have gone on to win the Powerball jackpot 37 more times - more than any other state.
