Lake County Coroners officials say a 32-year-old man died from a gunshot wound early Sunday morning as the result of a homicide in the five-thousand block of Melville Avenue in East Chicago. Authorities identified the victim as Ernest Parker of Hammond. The Times reports the man was struck in a drive-by shooting and that another man was shot, and was treated and released.
