A 40 year old Hammond man was sentenced to 80 years in prison today in the death of his son in 2009. The Times reports Riley Choate had pleaded guilty last month to felony neglect of a dependent causing death, two felony counts of moving a body after death, and depriving his daughter of an education. According to CBS Chicago, the body of 13 year old Christian Choate was found in May of 2011, buried under a shed in the Black Oak mobile home park where the family once lived. Published reports say the boy was kept in a dog-cage, where he was starved and beaten.
