In Michigan City, talk continues on realigning the South Shore rail that, for over a century, has run on a two-mile segment of single track embedded in the middle of 10^th and 11^th Streets. Michigan City Mayor Ron Meer recently issued a statement saying no final determination has been made on routing of the South Shore line, and that a number of technical issues still need to be addressed.
