Favorite Thanksgiving Dish

Annie's Blog

Do you have a favorite Thanksgiving Dish? Here's what it says about your personality:

PUMPKIN PIE - You love the warm fuzzy feelings that go with the holidays. You crave comfort, especially during this time of year.  You know how to be there for people. You are generous with your time, and you can always spare a couple hours for someone.  You appreciate the people you love, and the best moments of your life are when you're sharing something special with them.

SWEET POTATOES - You are kind, wholesome, and considerate.  You are a very well-grounded person.  You get a lot of satisfaction from being responsible and working hard. You like to have all your ducks in a row.  People find you very relatable and exceptionally dependable. Friends and family know that they can count on your strength.  While you're reliable, you're not boring at all.

TURDUCKEN - A traditional Thanksgiving meal is not nearly enough to satisfy you.  You have a huge appetite, and you keep eating even after you're full.  You are totally crazy and over the top.  How else could you explain your love for a Turkey stuffed with a duck that's stuffed with chicken?  In life, you make bold and spontaneous moves.  You don't put a lot of thought into your actions, and some pretty outrageous thinks end up happening.

CRANBERRY SAUCE - You have broad tastes, and you are definitely not an uptight foodie.  If something is yummy, you'll eat it.  So in your view, there's nothing wrong with canned cranberry sauce.  It's a classic for a reason.  You are quite cosmopolitan, but you're never a snob. You've lived enough to know to be open minded about things.

MASHED POTATOES - You're the type of person who can get along with anyone. Like mashed potatoes, you mesh well with stronger personalities.  In fact, you tend to prefer to hang with those who steal the spotlight. You were never looking for the spotlight anyway.  You are appreciative of everything you have in life, and you don't take much for granted.  You enjoy life's small comforts.  You are never picky, and you pride yourself on being low maintenance.  You can always make the best of a bad time.

TURKEY - You are not easily distracted in life...or at Thanksgiving.  You always have your eye on the prize.  You don't pay attention to unimportant details, and half-hearted Thanksgiving side dishes are barely on your radar.  The main event of Thanksgiving is the turkey, and that's really all you care about.  As always, you only think big. In life, you take a similar approach.  You're able to focus on the one goal that matters.  You are good at getting whatever you're after.

FRIED TURKEY - You enjoy the holidays but not more so than any other days. You always have something interesting going on, no matter what time of year it is.  You are not very likely to go traditional for any holiday.  You're much more into doing things your own way.  You're the type to throw the turkey in the deep fryer...and heck, the mashed potatoes and pumpkin pie too!

STUFFING - You love the togetherness of Thanksgiving, and you like adding your own little something to the group dynamic.  Like stuffing, you do a good job complementing and cooperating with others.  When you're on your own, you're a little lost.  You are old fashioned and love traditions.  You like to remember the holidays of your childhood and replicate them as much as possible.  You think that passing down customs is important.

The PlayStation 4 may have sold more than 1 million units in its first day alone, but not all of them are happy customers.  Many consoles have experienced what's being called the "Blue Light of Death," a situation where the PS4 doesn't output any signal to the TV while its power indicator displays pulsating blue light.  All PS4 consoles display the blue light when the PS4 turns on, but it eventually transitions to white when the system is fully functional.  Consoles afflicted with the Blue Light of Death never get past the blue light, turning the system into a $400 paperweight.  A troubleshooting guide on The PS4 forums says it could be issues relating to the system's power supply and hard drive, as well as incompatibility issues with certain televisions.  "We appreciate your patience while we investigate," wrote the post's author, a Sony employee.

Howard Stern is returning to “America’s Got Talent.”  He announced the decision on his radio show yesterday.  It will be his third season as a judge on the TV competition.  Stern told his radio audience, “It started out as a goof.  Now it’s becoming a job.  I am very excited to be going back to ‘America’s Got Talent.’  I will go back [for] one more season.”  He said that he believed his fellow panelists Howie Mandel, Mel B and Heidi Klum would also return, but could not confirm their participation.

The much-discussed Dumb and Dumber sequel has a release date.  Dumb and Dumber To will debut on Nov. 14, 2014, according to Deadline.  Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will reprise their roles of Lloyd and Harry, respectively, in the Farrelly brothers-directed comedy.

Leah Remini and Tony Dovolani were eliminated.

Oxford Dictionaries' word of the year for 2013 definitely captures a snapshot of our social-media-obsessed moment.  That's right -- it's "selfie."  In case you don't know what a selfie is, Oxford Dictionaries defines it as: (n.) a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically with a smartphone or webcam and uploaded to a social media website.  It's not a new word -- its origins date to 2002, according to Reuters -- but that doesn't matter. "The Word of the Year need not have been coined within the past 12 months and it does not have to be a word that will stick around for a good length of time," Judy Pearsall, editorial director for Oxford Dictionaries, tells Reuters.  According to Oxford's editors, use of the word has gone up a staggering 17,000% since 2012. During that same time, use of the selfie has probably gone up at least that much among celebrities.  In the past few months alone, arm's-length photos of Mariah Carey, Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Aniston, Nick Jonas and Chris Pratt have all gone viral.  And a British poll in July rated Rihanna the world's best when it comes to taking the self-aimed shot.

If there was ever a movie that didn't need a sequel, Frank Capra's It's A Wonderful Life is it.  That isn't stopping a pair of producers from making one, though.  According to Variety, the movie is called It's A Wonderful Life: The Rest of the Story and will feature Karolyn Grimes, the actress who actually played the classic role of George Bailey's (Jimmy Stewart) daughter "Zuzu" in the original film.  Grimes will play an angel who shows George Bailey's grandson, an unlikeable guy, how much better off the world would have been had he never been born.   The film's producers plan on releasing it in theaters during the 2015 holiday season.
