Her work has won several awards from the Indiana Broadcasters Association, Society of Professional Journalists/Indiana Chapter, and Network Indiana. She has also had academic papers selected for presentation at national conferences like the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication and Broadcast Education Association.
Laura watched her share of game shows growing up and one summer while in California, she's chosen to be a contestant on "Sale of the Century". Her TV favorites include The Honeymooners, Project Runway, Seinfeld, The Big Bang Theory, Doctor Who and Star Trek (TNG and the original). She also enjoys crossword puzzles and when asked what some of her favorite places to visit are she says -- office supply stores.

On behalf of NIRPC, join Indiana 105 as the Great Futures Family Bike Ride hosted by Boys and Girls Clubs of Porter County this Saturday gets ready to roll on the Prairie-Duneland Trail this Saturday morning, May 11th.
I'll be broadcasting from the check-in location at Countryside Park in Portage, from 7:30 to 8:30 am. It's a non-competitive bike ride, for families of all ages and riding abilities, featuring free bike safety helmet inspections and free helmet fittings, and free refreshments along the trail.
Note: Walk up registrations are welcome if you cannot register online by May 9th.
Proceeds benefit the nearly five-thousand youth served by Boys and Girls Clubs of Porter County.

Tonight is a big night for The Arc Northwest Indiana, as the BRIDGES Development Foundation and ‘Friends of The Arc Northwest Indiana, Inc. are hosting the 10th annual “Buds and Blossoms© Evening” at Avalon Manor in Merrillville. Beginning at 5:00 p.m, guests can browse a variety of specialty boutiques and afterwards enjoy a dinner. I'm honored to have been asked to speak at tonight's event, and you'll hear a little about the role of radio here in the Region. The evening will also include both silent and bidding auctions, and guests will be eligible for a variety of door prizes. Thanks to everyone who'll be attending tonight, and thanks for asking me to be a part of it.

Free parking -- Free admission. Porter County Recycling and Waste Reduction District presents their 8th Annual Northwest Indiana Earth Day Celebration with lots of fun and entertaining ways to learn about living greener and becoming more environmentally aware. It's the largest Earth Day event in Northwest Indiana. Lots of exhibitors.
We'll be there with NIRPC, Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission, as they work to help protect Northwest Indiana's environment.
