A Crown Point woman who was reportedly missing yesterday evening has been found alive. The D-N-R Division of Law Enforcement reports that 57-year-old Helen Drinski of Crown Point, was reportedly missing early Tuesday afternoon when her family had not heard from her in several hours. Drinski's unoccupied vehicle was located by On Starr GPS Tracking Device near the public boat launch along the Kankakee River on LaSalle Fish and Wildlife State Property. Newton County Sheriff's Department responded to the initial call from On Starr and began searching the area near her vehicle and along the river and were soon joined by Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement and property staff, fire departments from Lake Township, Lincoln Township, Kentland, Newton County EMA and EMS and Kentland Police Department. The search on Tuesday continued until 1am Wednesday morning and then resumed at 6am Wednesday morning. The D-N-R reports that Drinski was found about a half of a mile west of the public launch. The D-N-R says she appeared disoriented and dehydrated and was taken to St. Anthony's Hospital in Crown Point for further evaluation. Drinski is in stable condition at this time and is reunited with her family.
