Commuters who use Chicago Transit Authority buses and trains are being made aware of recent sharp increases in electronic device thefts. The Chicago Tribune sifted through crime data from 2009 through 2011 and discovered thefts on CTA buses and trains went up 42-percent, making stealing the number one crime. So far, the numbers for 2012 are less than last year, but are still above 2009's figures. According to the published report, the CTA attends to "ease" the problem by assigning more mass-transit poplice officers.
