...when grilling outdoors or handling smoking materials during the extreme dry conditions the region is currently experiencing, advises Jim Jarocz, Assistant Fire Chief of the city of Hobart.   Plan ahead by knowing, after you have finished grilling,  how to make certain any remaining hot coals are totally out.  Jarocz stresses to be extra careful when disposing of smoking materials as the leading cause of unintentional grass fires is an improperly disposed cigarettes.   He also said the excessive heat puts added stress on firefighters who may have to answer a call during these hot days.
