A festive atmosphere greeted Indiana University campus system's first female police chief Tuesday afternoon.   Patricia Nowak was officially sworn-in with a reception given in her honor in the John Anderson Library Conference Center of IU Northwest in Gary.  Emily Banas university spokesperson said the ceremony was attended by local police chiefs, or their representatives, and representatives from the U.S. Secret Service, Indiana State Police and Lake County Drug Enforcement.   More info available at:  www.facebook.com/iunorthwest
