A combination of speed and a shifting load caused a semi- truck to rollover closing the eastbound I-94 exit ramp onto southbound State Rd. 49 for over two hours Tuesday afternoon. Preliminary reports say the truck was on the ramp going too fast when the driver driver had to brake for a slower moving vehicle ahead of him. Police say the semi, owned by an Ohio company, was loaded with 45-thousand pounds of metal shavings in containers that were not secure inside the trailer. The truck's speed and the load shift caused the semi and it's box trailer to overturn onto its passenger side. The driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Toxicology tests are pending.
