Police in Gary are asking for the public's help in an alleged hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a Gary man at the traffic light at 43rd and Broadway in Glen Park shortly after 9-o-'clock last night. Police say a motorcycle collided with a car in the intersection, and the driver of the motorcycle, identified as 33-year-old Ruben Mejia, Junior was pronounced dead at the scene. Gary Police Public Information Officer Corporal Gabrielle King says the other vehicle left the scene. Corporal King says the suspect vehicle is believed to be a Buick, but no other descriptive information was available.
Corporal King also urges anyone involved in an accident to remain at the scene, especially if you don't know the extent of injuries to anyone in any other vehicle involved.
