Governor Mitch Daniels Friday announced the appointment of John Sedia as judge of the Lake Superior Court. He succeeds Judge Jeffery Dywan, who retired earlier this month after 21 years on the bench. Sedia, of Schererville, earned his undergraduate degree from Indiana University in 1976 and his law degree from Indiana University McKinney School of Law in 1979. He is currently a magistrate for the juvenile division of Lake Superior Court. Prior to becoming magistrate, he was a partner with Tweedle & Sedia law firm and served as a Lake County public defender in the juvenile division. Sedia is a member of the Indiana State Bar Association and president of the Lake County Bar Association. His appointment was effective this past Friday.
