A Valparaiso man who was accused of killing his stepdaughter in the family's home last February is a free man this morning. The Porter County prosecutor's office dismissed murder charges against 55-year-old Allen Warnes, because statements given earlier by three persons, originally implicating Warnes, were later recanted, according to http://www.nwitimes.com. Reports say because no physical or forensic evidence could be found to counter the recantations the charge was dropped. Warnes was to be released from the Porter County jail on Thursday, according to the article.
