The Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore's Fire Management Staff says they will be conducting a small prescribed fire around noon today [Wednesday Nov 14]  at the entrance to West Beach, located on County Line Road, just north of U.S. 12. Officials say seven to ten acres of land will be burned for animal habitat and hazardous fuel reduction. Authorities say light smoke may be visible near the scene, but that it is not expected to impact traffic, and fire staff will be in the area to monitor any potential traffic impacts.
