A Valparaiso Police Officer responding to a vehicle crash involving injuries this morning, at the intersection of U.S. 30 and State Road 49, was herself struck by a westbound vehicle as she proceeded through the intersection to head east. The Valparaiso Police Department says Officer Cassidy Kenyon was in a fully-marked squad car, with all emergency lights and siren activated, just after 8:30, when she was struck by a vehicle driven by 35 year old Sarah Wood, of LaPorte. Police report both Officer Kenyon and Wood were taken to Porter Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Meanwhile a 52 year old Plymouth man, who was injured in the crash that Officer Kenyon was responding to, was also taken to Porter Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
