In response to the attack of a realtor by two men posing as prospective clients, the Greater Northwest Indiana Association of Realtors will be presenting the “Realtor Safety Program” on Thursday for their their affiliate and realtor members. Chief Operating Officer Pat Pullara says those in attendance will be learning about client screening techniques, realistic steps and new insight into work safety, how to implement and execute a safety plan, dealing with showings and open houses, vacant properties, and what tools are available. Pullara says presenters include national speaker Tracey Hawkins of Safety and Security Force of Kansas City, Missouri, East Chicago Police Chief Mark Becker and Hammond Police Chief Brian Miller, who implemented a new program to ensure the safety of real estate professional out in the market about a month ago. The program takes place Thursday morning from 9 to 11, at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza in Merrillville.
