Schererville Police have issued a news release regarding the Northwest Regional SWAT Team being called out earlier this week. Police say they got a report of someone holding another person at gunpoint in the 15-hundred block of Demeter Drive, and authorities say a language barrier later became an issue as officers could only determine that a male son had come over with a gun and taken his brother. When officers went to the son's house and were unable to make contact with anyone inside, but heard movement, the decision was made to call for SWAT. Police say there ended up being no entry made by SWAT members, no hostage situation, and no injuries, and the original caller met with officers near the scene, and was taken into custody on a Schererville Town Court warrant.
