The Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning is wrapping up the development of the revision of the 2007 Public Participation Plan. The new Plan reflects NIRPC’s continuing commitment to reach out to and engage residents in the regional planning and decision-making processes relative to NIRPC’s three planning domains of transportation, economic development and the environment.
NIRPC is now holding public meetings in each of the three counties to:
- Share information about NIRPC, the 2040 Comprehensive Regional Plan, and the Public Participation Plan 2013.
- Discuss with other participants ways to strengthen NIRPC’s outreach and engagement strategies.
- Reach a shared consensus on the most pressing questions and comments NIRPC should be considering for future outreach.

The comment period has been extended to include any comments received during the meetings listed above and will close Tuesday, April 2.
