FAA Rejects Gary Airport Appeal to Keep Tower Open

An appeal made to keep the Gary/Chicago International Airport tower open was rejected today by the Federal Aviation Administration. The airport is one of 149 across the country that will close on April 7th, as part of the agency's sequestration implementation plan. Published reports say despite the loss of the control tower, Allegiant Air will continue two flights a week from Gary to Florida.
