Michigan City, IU Health LaPorte/Starke Offer Warming Centers

Officials in Michigan City are reminding residents that warming center locations are available for those who need them. Mayor Ron Meer says brutally cold air is expected to stick with us this week, with temperatures in the single digits and wind chills between 20-to-40 below zero. The Mayor is also urging citizens to check on family, friends, neighbors, pets and especially the elderly during this dangerous stretch of cold weather to ensure everyone stay healthy and safe.

Meanwhile LaPorte Health and Starke hospitals are offering warming stations for individuals and families in need of relief from the below zero temperatures.
