Fund Established for 2 INDOT Contractors Killed Last Week

A fund has been established with Chase Bank for the two Rieth-Riley Construction road workers who were killed on I-69 in Indianapolis last Friday. To make a donation, you may go to any Chase branch in the United States, with a check made out to “Demoss/Duerson Jr. Memorial Fund”. Inform the teller that you would like to make a deposit to this fund which is under the Rieth-Riley Construction group of accounts. The account number is 592792837. Donations must be made by check or money order. Cash donations are not accepted by Chase at this time.

A preliminary investigation shows the men, 49-year-old Kenneth Duerson Jr., of Indianapolis, and 24-year-old Coty Demoss, of Noblesville, were completing their overnight shift, removing cones from a blocked left lane when the driver of a pickup truck failed to move from the left lane and struck a directional arrow board sign and the two workers, then continued around the truck hooked to the arrow board and coming to rest head-on into the left lane concrete barrier.

Their deaths mark the first fatalites involving an INDOT worker or contractor since 2012.
