Merrillville High School is Four-Star School

Merrillville High School is one of over three-hundred schools to be named Four-Star Schools this year, even though it wasn't on the initial list released in April – though it should have been. According to an article in the Times, there was an error in the state education department's calculations. The superintendent of Merrillville Schools got a letter last month notifying him of the discovery. To be designated as a Four Star school in Indiana, a school must be in the top 25th percentile of schools in three ISTEP-related categories. More than forty northwest Indiana schools made the list this year, including two others in Merrillville – Wood and Salk Elementaries.  Here's a link to the full list :http://www.doe.in.gov/sites/default/files/accreditation/2012-2013-four-star-schools-v3.pdf
