HSUS Offers Reward in Lowell Case

The Humane Society of the United States is offering a reward of up to 25-hundred dollars for information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing a racehorse named Lady May Z near Lowell May 29th. Lake County Police believe a captive bolt gun, a device often used to stun and kill livestock being slaughtered, was used in the crime. Authorities say the 8-year-old mare was scheduled to appear at Balmoral Park Racetrack the next day for a practice race. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Lake County Sheriffs Detective Michelle Dvorscak
