Work Zone Ahead for 4th & 5th Aves

Work is about to start on an improvement project along a major east-west corridor in downtown Gary. Indiana Department of Transportation Spokesman Matt Deitchley says it'll involve about a five-mile stretch of 4th and 5th avenues... from about a mile east of I-65, where US 12-20 are a single highway before they split again and turn into 4^th and 5^th avenues... to about three-and-a-half miles west of the interstate near Bridge Street. Deitchley says the work will include pavement replacement, resurfacing and new traffic signals
