An unusual element causing a traffic backup. At around 3:45p.m. Tuesday afternoon, a small private plane landed on a southbound stretch of state road-49 (the Valparaiso Bypass) just north of the state 2 exit. Eye witness, Leigh Elllis reported that the plane was able to turn off the travel lanes and parked off to the side but still partially on the right hand shoulder and he said that he saw the pilot climb out his plane, apparently unharmed. Drivers and several curious onlookers are on the scene and while traffic is getting through both directions, although there are gaper delays both directions.
