The Indiana Department of Transportation is limiting road restrictions for the very busy 4th of July travel period. INDOT says their road work moratorium begins this/Tuesday evening, July 3rd and continues until the morning hours of Thursday, July 5th to help drivers travel safely and efficiently this Independence Day. Wherever possible, restrictions will be removed to ease traffic flow for the influx of holiday drivers, but some closures and restrictions will remain on larger projects that can't safely reopen to traffic.
INDOT is encouraging the public to stay informed about unexpected road restrictions and traffic tie-ups throughout the holiday by liking the INDOT Northwest Indiana Facebook page ( www.Facebook.com/INDOTNorthwest ) or follow them on Twitter ( www.Twitter.com/INDOTNorthwest ).
