In light of the rash of violent crimes and murders in Gary, Mayor Karen Freeman-Wilson is calling on all citizens, churches, community organizations, youth and media to join her tomorrow, July 21st at 200 Arthur Street at 4pm for an Anti-Violence Rally during the Gary Police Department's Roll Call.
Meanwhile, a new "Stop the Violence" street ministry program is scheduled to begin tonight in Gary... trained, ministers and members of their congregation will gather on street corners and other public places from 6-to-8 to encourage passersby to remain peaceful. The initiative is scheduled to continue thru the summer.
