First day voting records fell due to strong voter turnout in Indianapolis and Ft. Wayne. Meanwhile, absentee voting for November's general election continues today with six locations in Lake County open until November 5th. Lake County voting officials say ballets will be accepted from 9am to 3pm Monday through Friday at the Lake County clerk's offices in at 2293 N. Main St. in Crown Point, 3711 Main St. in  East Chicago, 15 W. 4th Ave. in Gary, 232 Russell St. in Hammond and at the township assessor's office at 9155 Wicker Ave. in St. John township and the township trustee's office at 10645 Randolph St. in Winfield.
