A 53 year old Gary woman is going to prison after being convicted of dealing cocaine today. Lake County Prosecuting Attorney Bernard Carter says Alvenia Harris pled guilty to the felony charge, and was sentenced to ten years at the Indiana Department of Corrections. Carter says, on or about September 27^th, 2010, Gary undercover police met with an informant about the illegal sale of narcotics near Harrison Street in Gary, and arranged two cocaine purchases. Two days later, a search warrant of her residence was executed and police recovered cocaine.
