Alert Radios for At-Risk Hoosiers

The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is again partnering with local emergency management agencies to give away nearly 85-hundred all hazards alert radios to at-risk, economically-disadvantaged Hoosiers throughout the state, including residents of mobile homes, targeted because emergency officials say those structures offer minimal protection against severe weather. Federal grant sources funded the purchase and distribution.

The department encourages everyone who is able to purchase an all hazards alert radio, to do so, and to think about giving them as gifts. You can find them for about thirty-to-forty dollars online and at many retail outlets.
