Lake Station Police are asking anyone with information regarding Friday's armed robbery of a home in Lake Station to please contact their office. Authorities report the suspects remain at large, and are described as two African American men, between the ages of 17 and 22 years old, with one suspect reported to have short hair, standing about five-foot-seven to eight inches tall, with a thin build, and wearing dark clothing, while the second suspect was reported to be about five-foot-nine to eleven inches tall, also with a thin build, and wearing dark clothing. Police report the two suspects allegedly forced their way through the front door of the home, on the 40th block of East 36th Avenue, at approximately 1:30 in the afternoon, and demanded money, prescription drugs, and guns from the home, which they reportedly made off with. Police report the victims received minor injures during the robbery, and all three, one woman and two men, refused treatment at the scene. The Times reports police agencies conducted sweeps of the area adjacent to the home for the suspects, which caused River Forest Elementary, Junior/Senior, and High School, as well as Evans Elementary to be placed on a precautionary lock down.
