"JEOPARDY!" SLAMMED OVER "SEINFELD" SNAFU

Just a few weeks after Alex Trebek came across two shades meaner than Darth Vader for dashing a young person's dreams over a minor mistake on "Jeopardy!" it's happened again. Fortunately, once again, it didn't affect the show's final results. The latest incident went down on Tuesday night's show and came complete with a "Seinfeld" tie-in. Contestant Rich Hansen selected the category "Name That TV Role." "'Seinfeld': Julia Louis-Dreyfus," Trebek replied. That's when contestant Fidelito Cortes, who was in the lead with $5,200, answered "Elaine," — but, according to Trebek, the contestant pronounced the name incorrectly. "Benes," Hansen chimed in, naming the character's surname. At first, Hansen was told that he had it wrong, too, but the judges almost immediately reversed their decision. "Oh, we'll accept that," Trebek said. "It was EE-laine, not UH-laine, Fidelito," Trebek explained to Cortes. "That's why the judges ruled against you on that one." Fortunately, it ended up not mattering; Cortes, who's a published poet, won the game, collecting $25,000 and adding to his two-day tally of $45,000-plus.

Helping Out One Another

Annie's Blog

One of our listeners passed along this information and I thought I could just share it here with you in hopes we can help a family in need. Here's part of her message:

One of my dearest friends is suffering an unthinkable tragedy. Her husband recently took his life from PTSD after serving many tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and being blown up twice by suicide bombers while there, once leaving him 90% disabled and in a coma for months. The story is heart breaking. She is left behind with 3 year old and 5 month old little girls and he was 100% their source of income.

TINY EMERGENCY UNDERWEAR YOU CARRY IN A TIN THAT TRANSFORMS INTO BRIEFS WHEN YOU ADD WATER

A company has started selling underpants in a tin which ensure that you can never be caught without a spare pair of underwear. The pocket-sized unisex briefs are compressed in a metal case which is just 2.5 inches wide, small enough to fit in a pocket. The garment is intended for partygoers who stay up all night, as well as campers, travelers and cautious types who want a replacement pair just in case. When needed, the user just drops the folded-up underpants in a glass of water for a few minutes until they have fully expanded.  The light cotton material dries in around five minutes and is elasticated to fit up to a 30 inch waist. The product can be bought online for $4 at a variety of novelty stores.

THE SIMPSONS” TO KILL OFF ICONIC CHARACTER

The Simpsons is to kill off an iconic character this season. The Fox animated series' executive producer Al Jean would not give away the victim's name while speaking about his plans for the show's 25th season, which started on Sunday. He told Canada's Sun News: "I'll give you a clue that the actor playing the character won an Emmy for playing that character, but I won't say who it is." However, there have been 25 Emmy winners for The Simpsons. Previous victors include Sideshow Bob (Kelsey Grammer), Princess Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and Marge's mom Jacqueline (Julie Kavner).

Ed Asner will guest-star in an upcoming episode of CBS' The Crazy Ones. Dating Rules

Annie's Blog

kids

When was your first boyfriend/girlfriend? New studies show that if kids begin dating at age 11 or younger it may have lasting physiological affects on their lives into the future. Simply put, preteens are not equipped to handle the emotional stress of a relationship...hey I don't think adults are either!!!

I can remember going on a “date” to the movies when I was in the 5th grade and thinking it was the biggest deal! Funny thing is that first boyfriend is now my husband 20+ years later! Weird how things work out? Do you have a dating rule in your house? Let us know on Facebook!
