ACCOUNTANT SMASHES RECORD BY GROWING THE WORLD'S BIGGEST WATERMELON – THAT WEIGHS 350.5 POUNDS
An accountant has grown the world's biggest melon and smashed his way into the record books with his mammoth 350.5-pound fruit. Chris Kent, from Sevierville in Tennessee, entered his prize fruit into the 2013 Pumpkin and Fall Festival in Hamilton in Ohio and came away victorious for the second time.

DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg couldn’t let go of “Breaking Bad.” Variety reports that he was willing to pay $75 million to fund three more online episodes of the hit AMC drama. Katzenberg announced to TV executives at the Mipcom Mart in Cannes six weeks ago that he wanted to create a new way of watching quality short form entertainment. He offered to pay $25 million per episode for three episodes of “Breaking Bad” starting from where the show last ended. “I’m going to create the greatest pay-per-view television event for scripted programming anybody’s ever done,” said Katzenberg. Unfortunately for fans, Katzenberg made his big offer a little too late. Creator Vince Gilligan’s storyline was already set in stone.

She has declared herself to be “the happiest I've ever been in my whole life” - and it seems that Miley Cyrus is truly moving on from ex-fiancé Liam Hemsworth by sending off all his clothes to a charity store. Miley confirmed her split from the Hunger Games hunk last month - and on September 20 a moving truck was spotted at the blonde's $3.9 million Los Angeles home. However, it would appear that Aussie Liam, 23, left some things behind as Miley soon after sent an assistant to get rid of his remaining clothes at the West Hollywood branch of Out of the Closet, a source said.

POLL: U.S. VOTERS PREFER HEMORRHOIDS TO CONGRESS
A North Carolina pollster said its survey indicates U.S. voters prefer hemorrhoids to the current U.S. Congress. Public Policy Polling said its telephone poll of 502 registered voters, conducted Oct. 4-6, found 53 percent of those polled have a higher opinion of hemorrhoids than Congress, while 73 percent said they prefer jury duty to the legislative body and 46 percent said they had a higher opinion of witches than lawmakers. The poll indicated Congress has an overall approval rating of 8 percent, with 7 percent of Democrats expressing approval and 10 percent of Republicans saying they approve.
ROLLER-COASTER MALFUNCTION LEAVES PASSENGERS STRANDED
A roller-coaster malfunction left 10 to 12 passengers stranded high in the air at Universal Studios in Florida for approximately two hours until they could be rescued. The Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster at Universal Studios in Orlando, Fla., had a glitch that caused the computers to go into safety mode, which stopped the ride last night. All riders were taken off and made their way down the emergency stairs. At the time of the malfunction, the riders were in a vertical position on the ride, but were soon shifted to make the rescue easier. There were no reports of injuries, and Orlando Fire Rescue was on scene at the theme park.
