Is Bigger Always Better?

Annie's Blog

Wedding DressHow do you get excited about planning a wedding? That's the question I have been asking myself for a couple of months now. Don't get me wrong, I am excited about spending the rest of my life with the man I love, I am not however, excited about spending thousands of dollars on one night of fun! Call me cheap, but there are other things I'd rather spend my money on, like a new house for instance so I can get outta my mom's basement! Well, I may have found the best way to get motivated... wedding dress shopping! I spent this weekend taking big steps in the wedding process... my first wedding dress shopping experience!

Gotta say I was pretty nervous about the idea, but it turned out wonderfully. (Big thanks to my sister and mom for the support and for getting me in and out of some of those things!) One misconception I have realized is, don't be afraid to go to the smaller boutiques. I thought the smaller the store, the more expensive and it wasn't exactly the case. (Yes there are some expensive gowns, but it's that way everywhere!) The smaller shops are way more helpful and in my opinion made the experience more enjoyable. The consultant helped pick out some dresses with no pressure, gave you your space, helped tie you in correctly, and offered to take pictures. In the big box store, I felt like a number. It was like you were cattle and they were herding you in and out. Not to mention our consultant didn't offer any help in and out of the dresses, nor did she have them ready to try on. Yes, bigger stores have more selection, but I felt for the money the quality was better at the smaller boutique! Was it like this for your gown experience?

Anyway, after two shops and four hours of trying on dresses I narrowed it down to two serious contenders! One is more simple and less expensive and the other is more elegant and slightly over my budget! That's why I'm sitting on both of them and deciding in a couple of weeks which one if any I will buy! Now, I want to do more wedding planning... what should be next?

Need Help With That Green Thumb?

Annie's Blog

Yesterday the fiance and I were trying to figure out if we wanted a large yard when we eventually got a house. While we both agreed we'd want a yard for Jager to run around in, we were concerned about having to take care of it! I mean I kill house plants, how could I keep a whole landscape alive!?!?

Do you have this problem? Are you like me and get depressed when you see the Scotts Brand commercials? Never fear! We may have found the answer with a simple hotline: Master Garder Tipline. (Just click on the link and find all the info you'll need)

Together we can have that beautiful landscape! (Just don't think I'm gunna mow!)

Do Not Collect $200 Go Straight To Jail

Annie's Blog

We're almost to the weekend... were almost to the weekend! Sorry I just keep reminding myself!

Anyway... We first heard about Amanda Clayton a month or so ago when she became famous for collecting welfare after winning the lottery, now she's back in the news. Turns out Michigan didn't like being embarrassed on national news and now they are arresting the lottery winner for welfare fraud. Do you think she should serve jail time? Let us know your opinion on Facebook!

A Bacon Flavored What?!!!?!

Annie's Blog

What sort of feelings come up when I say the word: Bacon? For me it's disgust... I've never been a breakfast meat kinda gal! My sister, on the otherhand, is a baconaholic... she would and could eat bacon everyday!

What is with this country's obsession with Bacon!?!?!

I bring up the question because Burger King is taste testing a new product in some of their stores: Bacon Flavored Sundaes! My understanding is it is a regular sundae only difference is bits of bacon sprinkled on top much like you would do with nuts. No Thanks!

So I ask... Would you dare try one?

Easter Goes To The Dogs.

Annie's Blog

jageregg

How was your Easter weekend? Did you get to spend time with the ones you loved? This was the first holiday in a long time I didn't have to worry about leaving early to drive back home for work the next day... it felt AMAZING!

Continued some of my favorite Easter traditions including coloring eggs with my sister, getting the Easter basket blessed with my mom, shooting dice after dinner, and having an Easter egg hunt for the dogs! Yes, you read that right... the dogs! (My mom desperately needs grandkids!) Jager definitely whooped Macaroni's butt in the egg hunt, stealing all the treats before Mac realized what was going on! (Check out the pic above)

Do you have any traditions at your house? Can't wait to eat those left overs later!
