It looks like Miranda Lambert is headed to the silver screen. According to Deadline, Miranda is collaborating with video director Trey Fanjoy and screenwriter Cindy McCreery to make a movie called Something in the Water, about five women challenging their men in a bass fishing competition.
Miranda would play one of the five women in the movie, said to be somewhere between Bridesmaids and Steel Magnolias in tone.


Taylor Swift isn't a nominee for this year's MTV Video Music Awards, but she's reportedly been tapped to perform at the show.
E! Online is reporting that Taylor is planning something "explosive" for the VMAs, though it's unclear what that entails.
However, its source states that Taylor will not be collaborating with another artist. Ariana Grande, 5 Seconds of Summer and Usher were named to the performance lineup earlier this month.
The ceremony will be held August 24 in Los Angeles.


Dan + Shay will perform on Live with Kelly and Michael Thursday.

Garth Brooks has announced the first southern date of his upcoming comeback tour.
The superstar will perform at the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Ga. on Friday, Sept. 19.


Eric Church released his latest album, The Outsiders, back in February, but he's not launching the world tour behind the album until September.
That's given him plenty of time to rehearse and really get excited about playing these new songs live.
Eric has invited Dwight Yoakam and Brothers Osborne to open his shows.
Singer/songwriter Brandy Clark will also open a few shows on Eric's tour, which kicks off September 11 in Bossier City, LA.


Luke Bryan will launch his sixth annual Farm Tour with an October 1 concert in Knoxville, Tennessee.
This year's Farm Tour will once again include shows in eight towns, wrapping up October 11 with a concert in Macon, Georgia.

Florida Georgia Line's cover of Motley Crue's "If I Die Tomorrow" is available now at iTunes.
The song will be included on the new album, Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Motley Crue, due out August 19.

Scotty McCreery visited patients and performed at Nashville's Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will perform their new hit, "Meanwhile Back at Mama's," on the CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock special next week on ABC. Zac Brown Band is teaming up with Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora on the special, and Justin Moore will sing "Home Sweet Home" with Vince Neil and Nikki Sixx of Motley Crue.
Look for show hosts Little Big Town to sing in addition to performances from Jake Owen and Darius Rucker.
They join previously announced performers including Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, Florida Georgia Line, Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton.
The CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock airs Tuesday, August 5 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.


Tim McGraw's next CD, "Sundown Heaven Town," will come in both regular and deluxe formats.
The album, due Sept. 16, was co-produced by McGraw and his longtime collaborator Byron Gallimore.
The regular CD contains 13 songs, while the deluxe version has 18. also includes a duet with Kid Rock.


Luke Bryan will launch a series of fall concerts this October known as the Farm Tour for the sixth straight year.
This year's Farm Tour adds stops in Knoxville, Tenn. and Gainesville, Fla. and is scheduled to begin on Oct. 1 in Knoxville, Tenn. and will continue through Oct. 11 in Macon, Ga.
Last year, Bryan performed for more than 115,000 fans in 8 Farm Tour towns breaking the previous year's record.
A portion of the proceeds are granted for local college scholarships ("Luke Bryan Farm Tour Scholarship") to students from a farming family within the communities the tour plays.


Montgomery Gentry is getting ready for a spring 2015 release with a new single, "Headlights,"
The song is going for adds at radio on Aug. 18.
Montgomery Gentry are on Blaster Records after having previously been on Average Joe's where they released "Rebels on the Run" in 2011.
Michael Knox will produce the new music.


Forbes magazine has released their 2014 Country Cash Kings list, and Toby Keith tops the countdown for a second straight year, with an estimated $65 million coming in from his tour dates, restaurants and other business ventures.
Taylor Swift is second with $64 million, and Kenny Chesney rounds out the top three with a $44 million payday.
In fourth place, Jason Aldean earned $37 million from about 88 shows during the ranking period. Luke Bryan took in $34 million for a number-five finish.


Big & Rich's new album, Gravity, comes out September 23 featuring a collaboration with Tim McGraw on the song "Lovin' Lately."

Brad Paisley has released a new version of his single, "River Bank," featuring country rapper Colt Ford.

Hunter Hayes' new video for "Tattoo" is now on CMT.
The clip features animated graphics, graffiti art and a beautiful brunette woman playing Hunter's onscreen love interest.

Garth Brooks set a PR on the first day sales for his world-wide tour went on sale Friday.
Brooks advertised one shows for Sept. 4 in Chicago. By the end of the day, he had a total of 10 shows.
He sold 180,000 tickets.
Brooks shattered his previous ticket sales for Chicago, the first time Brooks has played the Windy City in 17 years.
On Oct. 21-26 and Dec. 18-19, 1997, Brooks set a personal record in Chicago when he sold 141,717 paid admissions.

The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood will begin Sept. 4 at 7:30 p.m..
Subsequent dates in Chicago are Sept. 5 at 6 p.m.,
Sept. 6 at 6 and 10:30 p.m.;
Sept. 11 at 7:30 p.m.;
Sept. 12 at 6 and 10:30 p.m.;
Sept. 13 at 6 and 10:30 p.m.; and Sept. 14 at 7:30pm at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Il.


Brantley Gilbert performed at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of the events surrounding the big NASCAR race there this past weekend.
The country star always jumps at the chance to play at NASCAR events since he's such a big fan of the sport.
In fact, he recently went out for a couple of laps with NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick at the Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Kristian Bush's first single as a solo artist, "Trailer Hitch," goes for adds July 28.

The Band Perry has signed on to appear at Teen Choice 2014 airing live on Fox Sunday, August 10.
They're up for Choice Country Group at the fan-voted awards show.
