Search Process Outlined for New LAUW President

The search is on for a new person to lead the Lake Area United Way after current President and CEO Lou Martinez announced he will retire effective March 31st, 2015. Board of Trustees Member and Search Committee Chair, Aaron McDermott, says the ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of the needs of Lake County’s residents as well as the region’s business climate and that they hope to name a successor within the next six-months. Officials report a diverse committee of both current and former board members, as well as long-time supporters of United Way, have been empaneled to the search process committee.

Martinez began his career with Lake Area United Way in May of 1979 and was named president of the organization in May of 1995.
