In southwest Illinois, about forty miles outside St. Louis, fire crews combined their skills earlier this week to rescue a dog who fell into a forty-foot well. A post at the Prairietown Fire Department Facebook page says after they got the call, they called Edwardsville Fire for assistance in using their specialized training – specifically their confined space/technical rescue team – to go down the well and bring the dog, named “Rico”, up to safety. Here is a link to read more and see more photos from the rescue.
