The Recycling and Waste Reduction District of Porter County will launch a new five-class series for individuals interested in learning more about recycling. Each class will be comprised of one hour session. Classes will be hybrid of Zoom and in-person presentations. Program registration deadline is October 7, 2021.
The Master Recycler Series will begin October 11, 2021. The five course dates include October 11th 18th 25th and November 1st and November 8, 2021. Classes will be featured from 6:30pm-8:00pm CT across the series. In-person classes will take place in the Porter County Administration Building located on Indiana Avenue in Valparaiso.
Classes will be led by variety of area field experts from Homewood Disposal, Republic Services, Shirley Heinze Land Trust, and Tradebe Environmental Services.
“This is a fantastic series for people with interest in recycling. Our classes will cover variety of topics ranging from waste prevention, waste flow process and household hazardous waste,” said Keri Marrs Barron, Executive Director of Recycling & Waste Reduction District of Porter County.
Interested individuals must attend each of the five one hour courses to complete the Master Recycler Program. Program registration fee is $30.00 for participants. Registration fees are payable via check or online through Paypal.
Class participants who miss more than one class date above will not complete the course and will not graduate. Class participants must complete 30 Payback (volunteer) Hours to achieve Master Recycler certification.
