In Texas, hundreds of bats are back outdoors after being rescued from the cold. Houston Humane Society says 600 bats were released back to their colony Wednesday evening and hundreds more later that same night. After nearly a week in the care of the Houston Humane Society Texas Wildlife Rehabilitation Coalition (TWRC) the bats were returned to their natural habitat. They say bats were rescued from the ground minutes away from freezing to death as Arctic air swept across the country. The Houston Humane Society is raising funds for a new building for wildlife that will include a dedicated bat room so they’ll have more space to rehabilitate bats.
