Registration Open for Humane Society Critter Camp

Children ages 8 to 12 years old will learn about the humane treatment of animals at Critter Camp, a summer day camp hosted by Humane Society Calumet Area (HSCA). The Humane Society Calumet Area in Munster says Critter Camp is a five-day camp that provides a fun, safe, hands-on environment for kids to learn about various aspects of animal care and build a sense of respect and responsibility for animals. Two sessions will be held July 11 through 15 or August 1 through 5. Camp takes place each day from 9 a.m. to noon at HSCA, 421 45th Ave., Munster, Ind.

Campers will do a daily craft, enjoy a snack, make a camp t-shirt and have interactive presentations about animals. Past presenters have included a veterinarian, dog trainer, wildlife sanctuary, a pet therapy team and more. The registration fee is $100 per camper per session. Camp size is limited.
