In recognition of World Frog Day on October 15, Humane Society Calumet Area’s Moraine Ridge Wildlife (MRW) will celebrate with educational activities at the education center from noon to 3 p.m. The program will feature informational booths and activities and crafts for children at MRW’s rehabilitation center, located at 570 N. 450 E., Valparaiso, Ind. Educational talks will be held inside at the education center located next to the rehabilitation center.
MRW staff and volunteers will introduce attendees to Northwest Indiana’s frog species and the public will have a chance to meet the ambassador animals that call MRW home.
Additionally, attendees can learn about the habitats of frogs and threats to their environment, as well as how to identify a frog’s night-time call and how to make your neighborhood amphibian friendly.
