Shirley Heinze Land Trust announces that its annual Spring Benefit is being held online this year on the organization’s website. The public is invited to participate in a first-ever “virtual fundraiser” to support the land conservation work of the organization. A series of video testimonials from supporters is also being presented on the website. In place of the usual gathering and auctions, a $50,000 challenge gift has been pledged by two donors. Funds raised will advance the organization’s strategic plan, which focuses on enhancing local lands and waters in northwestern Indiana. The online benefit started May 15th and continues to May 30th at www.heinzetrust.org .
“We are extremely grateful to these generous donors”, says Executive Director Kristopher Krouse. “These past several weeks have been challenging for us all. Many have found respite, hope, and inspiration in nature, and recognize the value of protecting the precious natural places that we are fortunate to have in our area.”
Supporters may donate anytime through the Spring Benefit link on the Shirley Heinze Land Trust website, www.heinzetrust.org, or by contacting Bonnie Hawksworth at 219-242-8558.
