Valparaiso, IN – Taltree Arboretum & Gardens will be hosting a special President’s Day story time on Monday, February 16, 2015 at 10:30am.
Kids can enjoy the day off of school in the Depot Visitors Center. A story about presidents will be accompanied by a short craft and snack time sponsored by Albanese Candy Store. There will be a chance to preview the Lincoln Funeral Train Vignette, specially restored for the 150th Anniversary of the Lincoln Funeral Train in 2015.
“The arboretum is a wonderful place to spend the day off of school,” said Stephanie Blackstock, Interim Executive Director of Taltree Arboretum & Gardens. “We encourage guests to spend time on the grounds after the program, continuing the fun and educational experience.”
After the story time, come hike with one of our naturalists and learn about Taltree’s three ecosystems: the woodlands, wetlands, and prairie. This 1.5 mile walk will also discuss animals that are active during winter and explore scat!
The Taltree President’s Day story time program will be held at 10:30 a.m. on February 16. The program will be open to ages 4 to 10. The cost is $7 per child and adults are free with admission. The eco-systems hike is free with admission. Seating is limited. Reservations are required.
